'We were lucky winners and received a range of plants for the school to improve our wellbeing area. The children love looking and caring for the plants. They also enjoyed looking at the fact cards to learn about the origin of the plants. Chantal carefully selected plants that are interesting but also don't need much special attention - perfect for a school!'

'As part of our curriculum we were covering plants. Grow My Wellbeing provided us with a Peace Lily bundle to kick off our project. The children were totally hooked, especially looking at and adding worm poo! Would totally recommend and will be using again next year! Thanks Chantal'.

Why
'Grow for Schools'?

After visiting a local School’s Open Day with my children, I noticed a room in the School called the ‘Wellbeing Room’. I immediately envisaged a wellbeing room with plants as a means to improve the look and feel of the room even more, with the addition of some greenery.

The colour green is aesthetically pleasing to look at, being surrounded by nature calms our nervous system and it’s even known for plants to increase our creativity.

The wellbeing and pastoral work in Schools are invaluable to children. The hope is that plants can enhance the wellbeing experience by making the room even more aesthetically pleasing to be in and for pupils and staff to be surrounded by nature.

How does
'Grow for Schools' work?

All of our plants for this scheme will be propagated and grown by ourselves.

Propagated plants will be potted into a healthy peat free soil, ready to head to their new school.

We’re collaborating with Ivyline!

Ivyline has kindly agreed to sponsor beautiful decorative pots so your new plants will be complete in brand new pots.

Each month, one Bury St Edmunds or Sudbury school will be selected by recommendations from the public and five new plants will be delivered by us to be placed in the school’s Pastoral or Wellbeing rooms. The plants could even be for your Careers Adviser’s room to help make it feel more relaxing and welcoming for students, particularly those who may feel anxious about making their GCSE or Post-16 choices.

The type and size of plants will vary every month, depending on availability of propagated plants at the time of delivery. Some plants might be tall, some may be small but you’ll have the added greenery to add to your room. We’ll aim to only provide easy to care for, low maintenance plants as we know how busy a Teacher’s daily schedule can be.
